چکیده

The cloning efficiency (CFE-F) of stromal precursor cells (CFU-F) in cultures of heterotopic transplant cells and the quantity of CFU-F in bone marrow transplants from old donors to old recipients (O-O group) has decreased almost eight times, compared with transplants where the bone marrow from young donors has been transplanted to young recipients (Y-Y group). However, in the O-Y group, the CFE-F and the quantity of CFU-F in the transplants increased more than three times compared with the O-O group, however, staying 2.5 times lower than the Y-Y group level. Regarding transplanting bone marrow from young donors to old recipients (Y-O), the CFE-F of transplants decreased approximately two times lower compared with the CFE-F in the Y-Y group. The CFE-F in the cultures of the spleen transplant cells and the amount of CFUF in the transplants of the O-O group have decreased four and six times, respectively, compared with the Y-Y group. However, if the spleen from the old mice was transplanted to young recipients (O-Y), the CFE-F in transplants was noted to increase almost seven times compared with the CFE-F in spleen transplants from old donors to old recipients (O-O), and exceeded the level of the Y-Y group. These data suggest that the age-related decrease in the CFE-F and the quantity of CFUF in the bone marrow are the results of both changes in the stromal tissue (expressed in real reduction in number of CFU-F), and the regulating action of the organism on stromal tissue. Age-related decrease of CFE-F and the amount of CFU-F in spleen could occur, mainly due to the regulating action of the organism. "Recovery" of In-111 Chloride uptake in spleen and bone marrow, after chemotherapy for acute leukemia

A man with acute myelogenous leukemia, treated with chemotherapy, had a decrease in circulating formed blood elements. Bone marrow biopsy revealed necrosis. Imaging with In-Ill chloride demonstrated activity in the liver, but not in the spleen or bone marrow. Eighteen days later, the circulating blood count had risen; a repeat bone marrow biopsy showed the return of blood cell precursors....

Trahalose Activates Autophagy and Prevents Hydrogen Peroxide-Induced Apoptosis in the Bone Marrow Stromal Cells

Bone marrow stromal stem cells (BMSCs) play a significant role in cell therapy. These cells quickly die after transplantation to the affected area due to oxidative stress. The natural disaccharide, trehalose which can be known as autophagy inducer. The present study aimed to investigate the role of trehalose in preventing BMSCs from oxidative stress caused by H2O2. BMSCs were isolated from the ...

Effect of daunorubicin drug with and without cimetidine on the nucleated cells of bone marrow of balb/c mouse

Introduction: Hematopoiesis is an on going process mammalian marrow system. A few cells from the nucleated cells of bone marrow are hematopoietic cells which include primary stem cells, precursor cells and progenitor cells. Primary stem cells and progenitor cells are able to produce colonies in culture medium (CFU-C) and irradiated mouse spleen (CFU-S). A hematopoietic cell is alive and act...

Alterations of adiponectin gene expression in bone marrow of acute myeloid leukemia

Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is characterized by the proliferation of myeloid precursors and abnormal differentiation of hematopoietic stem cells, which results in the accumulation of immature cells in the bone marrow (BM). The accumulation of these cells in the bone marrow causes molecular and cellular changes in the microenvironment of the bone marrow. The adiponectin hormone orig...
